I have been blogging since 2008. That’s eleven years. Whether my readers have agreed with my posts or disagreed with them, they always contributed things of great value here. Some have told me that even though they are “comment mice” ( rarely or never leaving a comment), they have often taken away something from my posts that has helped them—in their writing or in life.
Though the blog has morphed a few times, my goal has remained the same: to give you something useful, something to make you think in different ways, to, as I said when I started this whole thing, inspire, educate, and, when possible, entertain you.
I will be stepping up my blogging over the next few months, as I finish my novel, The Bark Peeler’s Daughter. My blog’s goals are trifold:
• Writing advice– What I have learned that, hopefully, will help you become a better writer, too.
• Book reviews- Expect personalized reviews of books I have loved—a mix of bestsellers, current and past— and what I learned from them that I have applied to my own writing.
• My progress toward publication of The Bark Peeler’s Daughter– (Cue the suspenseful music here.) The ups and downs of selling a novel and all the bumps along the way.
Your support (even as one of the aforementioned “comment mice”) has inspired me to do my best. I might not always hear from you but it brings me joy to know that you are reading and, possibly, pondering my words.
So look for new blog posts every Tuesday and Friday, starting with this one today. And as we head into the busy holiday season (at least here in the U.S.), my hope for you is that you will find time to put your feet up and relax. And, of course, squeeze out more time for writing, if that is your goal.
Thank for for reading my blog!
